The Noble Experiment: Owney's |
Today we did a tour of The Noble Experiment, New York City's only exclusively rum distillery. It's a small operation and the founder Bridget gave the tour herself and poured us samples of her final product Owney's Rum. As a bonus, we also got to sample some leftover holiday editions infused with Rosemary, Mint, and Vanilla Bean. Oh the cocktails one could make with these gems!

Conveniently, the Saturday tour is at 4pm which left us just a few measly blocks from
Roberta's around dinner time which is a fine situation to be in. It's hard to believe, but
our last visit to Roberta's was well over a year ago so we were long overdue for an encore.

Roberta's: Focaccia |
We were famished so ordered some Focaccia to tide us over until we waited for our pizza to arrive. It hit the spot and whetted our appetites for our Paparizza with romesco, mozzarella, smoked paprika sausage, and onion. Honestly, their crust was even
better than I remembered.

Roberta's: Paparizza |
After our pizza, we walked through East Williamsburg up to Grand Street, home of some really delightful bars. One of our favorites from
the last time we explored the area was Huckleberry Bar, so we stopped in for a cocktail. Since their "kitchen" is part of the bar, it's almost impossible to ignore the delcious smells wafting over to you from the counter so we got an order of the Pigs in a Blanket too. We had intended to carry on and explore the area even further, but decided that we were pretty tuckered out from an exciting day in Brooklyn and headed back into Manhattan.
