Ma Peche | Fried Brussels Sprouts |
We've been David Chang fans from almost the instant we set down in NYC as
Momofuku Noodle Bar was one of the first restaurant we were taken to to initiate us as legit New Yorkers. However, we tend to keep doing repeat visits and haven't taken the opportunity to try his other fine dining establishments. Tonight, that finally changed...
Yes friends, we went to
Ma Peche. We decided to skip the Pork Buns this time and try all new things, so ordered 2 smaller dishes and 2 mains. We started with the Fried Brussels Sprouts which were incredible enough to get any vegetable hater to swoon. However, I'm pretty sure all nutritious value is drowned in butter or whatever magic it is drenched in.
Next up were our mains: the Grilled Hanger Steak and the Roasted Duck. I think I'm going to let the pictures do the talking here, because they were every bit as delicious as they look.

Our waitress suggested that we actually get our second small plate last as we ordered the Spicy Roasted Rice Cakes. We were very grateful for the recommendation, as it was indeed quite spicy and may have thrown off our taste buds for the rest of the meal. So for us it acted like a fiery, savory dessert!

Absolutely lived up to our expectations in every way. Thank you once again Chef Chang!
