Salt Lick & Chi'lantro Picnic |
When you live in Austin, going to Austin City Limits Festival seems like a total pain in the behind. Then, when you leave Austin, you kick yourself in the behind for not going. This year we had the pleasure of attending 2/3 of ACL (3rd day was rained out) with some of my best pals. Here's a look at the fantastic offerings at Austin Eats.
For dinner on Friday, we made ourselves a mini picnic with our friends and shared a Pork Rib Boat, Chopped Beef Sandwiches, and Sloppy Nachos from The Salt Lick with a side of The Original Kimchi Fries from Chi'lantro.
Saturday was brutality hot so after a few hours I desperately needed a cool treat. I briefly debated if I should get Coolhaus or something else since I can get Coolhaus in NYC, but then I snapped to reality and just got some delicious, amazing Coolhaus because you should snag that opportunity no matter where you are. They had Olive Oil ice cream, but I wasn't sure it would go on a Coconut cookie, so I asked the lovely ladies at the booth what they recommended and this was the magic combo. SOLD. I love it when decisions make themselves.

After my cookie digested and we rocked out a bit more it was time for the next snack. I noticed a magical fried cone treat and found the origin: The Mighty Cone. I snagged myself a Hot & Crunchy Chicken & Avocado Cone and got my fried food on. Yum-mee.

There were plenty more amazing vendors I was looking forward to on Sunday, but wound up getting to spend the day at Gourdough's Public House...but that's another story.
